Outside Gerupuk, located in the same bay as Inside Gerupuk, is known for its more challenging and powerful waves. This surf spot is perfect for intermediate to advanced surfers seeking longer rides and bigger swells. The break here is a righthand reef break, offering fast, hollow waves that provide excellent opportunities for barrels and highperformance maneuvers.
Outside Gerupuk works best at mid to low tide, with optimal conditions during south to southwest swells and offshore winds from the east. The waves can handle a variety of swell sizes, making it a consistent

The difference is power and difficulty. While Inside is soft and rolling, Outside Gerupuk offers fast, powerful walls and hollow sections. It is a high-performance wave for more experienced surfers.
It can be if you aren’t prepared. The wave breaks over a shallower reef than the Inside, and the hold-downs are more significant. It is more exposed to open ocean swells.
In contrast to the Inside (which likes high tide), Outside Gerupuk usually performs best at mid to low tide. Check the tide charts to time your boat trip correctly!
It is not recommended. Beginners will have much more fun at Inside Gerupuk or Don-Don. Outside is for surfers who can duck-dive confidently and handle steep drops.
